As the festive season approaches, encompassing Navratri, Dussehra, and Diwali, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is proactively urging real estate developers to submit timely project registration applications. This initiative aims to streamline the registration process, allowing developers to announce and commence projects during the festive period.
MahaRERA officials have emphasized the importance of developers adhering to guidelines and submitting all prescribed documents on time. Project registration is a critical step that enables developers to formally launch, market, advertise, and sell real estate projects to prospective homebuyers.
“Developers should submit registration applications to MahaRERA with all the prescribed documents on time so that housing projects can be announced and started during the festive season,” stated a MahaRERA official.
On average, Maharashtra witnesses the registration of around 300-350 projects throughout the year. However, during the festive season in November and December, this number sees a significant surge, reaching up to 450-500 registrations. This surge is attributed to developers aiming to leverage the festive spirit and launch new projects during this auspicious time.
Since its inception in May 2017, MahaRERA has played a crucial role in regulating the real estate sector in Maharashtra. Close to 43,000 projects have been registered under MahaRERA, reflecting the authority’s commitment to transparency and accountability in the real estate industry.
In preparation for the festive season launches, MahaRERA’s outreach to developers and emphasis on timely submissions aim to ensure a seamless process for project registrations. This initiative not only benefits developers but also contributes to fostering confidence among homebuyers during the celebratory season.
