Stamp duty is not applicable in case of Transfer of flat in Co-operative Housing Society in the name of the nominee after the demise of the original owner.

It doesn’t matter whether the deceased member had made a n WILL or not.

In case of legal heirs, there is no stamp duty applicable if they do not divide the property. in case one of the legal heir takes consideration in cash or kind in lieu of his/her share in the flat, then on partition deed, the stamp duty is applicable.

In a co-operative housing society, there is no registration compulsion of documents for sale.
