Now flat owners could take sigh of relief as an Andheri (E) society has got an order from District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum (DCDRF) to pay Rs. 3.35L to its member for leaking terrace. As Suresh Kumar whose roof top flats terrace has severely damaged due to seepage.
The Mumbai Suburban District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum has issued a notice that the
Reparation amount will go in favour of repairing Kumar’s flat’s leaking terrace of Shreeji Kripa co-operative housing society. Kumar will get Rs 10,000 of the amount as compensation for mental harassment caused due to the leaky terrace.
According to the reports Kumar has several times written the letters to the housing society regarding the damages but there was no output. After the three years mentally harassment Kumar went to Consumer forum in March 2009. The society has an option to complete the repair work within the two months.
